Games of the Future is an event for beginner and experienced fencers High School aged and under to honour our Olympic Stars of Tomorrow and Today.
Represent a country – bring a flag or wear a special item of clothing.
Venue: Fencing Institute, 91 Jack Hinton Drive, Addington
Timetable:
Novice Foil: Under 9*, Under 11* and Under 13* for fencers who have started fencing in 2020 and 2021. Fencers will wear plastic gear only. Registration 8.30am for 9.00am start of the Opening Ceremony. Competition will end around 10.30am depending on numbers entered.
Experienced Foil: Under 9*, Under 11* and Under 13* Fencers will wear electric gear only. Registration 10.30am for 11.00am start of the Opening Ceremony. Competition will end around 12.30pm depending on numbers entered.
High School Novice and Experienced Epee: Registration 12.30pm for 1.00pm start of the Opening Ceremony. Competition will end around 2.30pm depending on numbers entered.
High School Novice and Experienced Foil: Registration 2.30pm for 3.00pm start of the Opening Ceremony. Competition will end around 5.30pm depending on numbers entered.
*Age as at 1 January
Format: Dependent on numbers and experience of fencers but will be prioritising maxi fence.
Events will be fenced mixed gender unless we have enough fencers to run separate men’s and women’s events.
$20 per event. Payable by internet banking: The Fencing Institute 03-1707-0148185-000 or cash at time of registration.
Equipment Requirements for Novice Fencers:
• All gear will be provided by The Fencing Institute at no charge.
Equipment Requirement for Experienced Fencers:
• 350N Jackets, plastrons and breeches or long sports pants. Chest protectors for women. Gear can be hired. Pay $15 to your coach for hireage.
• Lames, mask safety and security attachment will be checked on the piste.
• Not required: lame bibs, FIE maraging blades.
Tea, coffee and hot chocolate will be available free of charge. Our kitchen facilities are available for you to bring your own food.
