For those who attended the SkateNSW AGM (if not, you can read my reports here) or who's club has been in touch with you regarding Membership for 2021, may be aware of the offer SkateNSW has for all 2020 SkateNSW members.

For those that are not aware, and to clarify the information for all 2020 members, here is the offer:

2020 Member Offer

SkateNSW Executive proposes that all 2020 members, that meet the follow criteria be offer a discounted membership* renewal until 25/01/2021, as part of the COVID recovery support grant (SkateNSW fee waived, Skate Australia fee paid by SkateNSW - including Branch complimentary memberships):

• A 2020 SkateNSW Member without any outstanding debts to any SkateNSW club, SkateNSW or Skate Australia.
• Are currently actively participating in Roller Sports with their club/branch, and/or where currently unable to participate, intend to resume actively participating in Roller Sports with their club/branch in 2021.
• Have completed COVID safe training. COVID safe course evidence to be provided to SkateNSW.
  • CAT 1 members are encouraged to also complete their ASADA training.
• Renew their Club membership for 2021, through their Club Portal, or directly with their club where no portal is available.
• Unattached members are encouraged to join a club. Where there are no suitable clubs, the Unattached membership fee will apply.
• Club/Branch to confirm all applicants are financial and active.

* Discounted membership will be for the same membership category as joined in 2020 (at the time of rollover).

If you wish to accept the offer of a Discounted membershership of SkateNSW (including Skate Australia membership) please follow the instructions below carefully to ensure you meet the criteria no later than 25/01/2021:

1. Pay any outstanding debits you have with any SkateNSW Club, SkateNSW and/or Skate Australia
2. Be actively participating with your Club (or branch/skate sport)
3. If yet to do so, complete one of the COVID safe training courses
4. Renew your membership through your club portal or through the SkateNSW membership portal where your club does not have its own portal

BUT DO NOT PAY YOUR MEMBERSHIP (until SkateNSW has confirmed your Discounted membership during January 2021)

• A discount code will be applied to your membership invoice (by SkateNSW), once it has been confirmed that you have met all the criteria.
• SkateNSW will contact you or your club if there are any outstanding items.
• Once confirmed, SkateNSW and/or your club will contact you to pay the balance (Club fee or any additional upgrade / unattached fees).
• Note: NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN. Therefore if you pay the SkateNSW / Skate Australia fee before the discount code is applied, you will not qualify for the Complimentary Membership.

Members wishing to Upgrade their Membership

• If you wish to upgrade your membership you can either do this at the time of joining or after the Discounted membership has been complete.
• The  Discounted amount will be equal to your 2020 SkateNSW Membership level.
• Therefore any difference (upgrade fee) will be due once the discount code has been applied.

Unattached Members

• Unattached members are strongly encouraged to join their local club.
• All unattached members wishing to remain unattached will be required to pay the Unattached fee (this will be applied to all categories applying for a Discounted Membership).

COVID Safe training

• Those members that have already completed their COVID safe training and supplied this to SkateNSW would have received an accreditation confirmation.
• If you have completed the training, but not provided the evidence to SkateNSW please email the certificate to SkateNSW.
• For those yet to complete a COVID safe training course, please complete one of the following course and follow these instructions.

At completition of the course please either:

Take a screen shot of the "Course complete" page, including the account* you logged in with (top right corner)
Take a screen shot of the "Status Complete" page, including the account* you logged in with (top right corner)
"Export to PDF" from the "My Learning Transcript" tab
Then forward the email from Play By The Rules, attaching your screen shots/PDF to eo@skatensw.org.au

* Please ensure the account name matches your membership name, if not, then please indicate the member whom completed the course.

Australian Coaching Council - COVID Safe Sport Coaches & Officials Certification

Recommended for Coaches, Officials, Committee Members, Volunteers (30 mins)

Click the Join Now button, and Login or Register for the OpenLearning Australian Coaching Council's eLearning portal.

Enrol into the COVID Safe Sport Coaches & Officials Certification course and then follow the instructions to start the e-learning course.

At completition of the course please download your Covid Safe Sport Coach Certification (PDF) by clicking the Download Certificate button in the "You are Awesome!" completed training page.

Then forward your Covid Safe Sport Coach Certificate PDF to eo@skatensw.org.au

SkateNSW has received a substantial grant from the NSW Government via the NSW Office of Sport to aid in the recovery from the COVID pandemic.

This discountedy membership offer is the first initiative from the grant that SkateNSW has planned, as it provides support for all 2020 members.
