About

About Us

2025 marks our 30th year, with the club officially starting with the opening of the Skate Plus roller skating rink in December 1984, first in Taren Point then moving 2 years later to Caringbah. After 30 years we are so proud to still be bringing skating to the Shire!

TPRSC is a non-profit sporting club. The daily operations of the club are managed by an elected volunteer executive committee. Our coaching team is made up of accredited World Champion level coaches as well as our passionate volunteer assistant coaches. As a member of SkateNSW we offer lessons and training as set out in programs by Skate Australia and in accordance with World Skate rules and regulations.

Now based at the Menai Indoor Sports Centre, we offer training in artistic and speed skating disciplines. Our members are a diverse mix of artistic, speed and recreational skaters and we can proudly share that a number of our skaters and coaches have reached national and international skating levels, representing not only our club, but NSW and Australia.

We cater for a wide range of skill levels and ages (currently from 4 to 62) and welcome anyone with an interest in skating to come and join us. We believe that skating provides so many benefits to all those who participate, from strength, coordination and agility to building confidence and fostering a sense of achievement. We strive to provide a safe space for people to have a go and develop personally as well as athletically.

Getting started

You must become a club and SkateNSW member to participate in lessons, training and competition. The membership is a mandatory requirement of SkateNSW charged annually and covers insurance for injury and accident and administrative costs of the club under the umbrella of Skate Australia.

If you are not a member but wanting to see if skating is for you then we’d love for you to come down and do a Come and Try lesson. This allows you to book in for either the Learn To Skate class or the Adult Skate Skills class to see if you like it. Then if you want to continue you can sign you up for our Recreational - CAT4 membership which is $77 per person for the year.

Don’t have your own skates? Don’t worry! We offer skate hire for $5 which you can select when you book online.
