Summer is here and we are blooming!

Our smack of Stingers is blooming as we start the year, with a new Division 1 team and a fabulous collection of Booties joining. Welcome to you all! 

There's a lot happening this summer, so please check out some details below of everything coming up and how you can get in the water, have fun, get involved and progress inclusive sport!

What's Coming Up

• Feb-Mar 2022 - Water Polo NSW Summer Comp! We have 5 teams in Division 2 and our first ever team in a Division 1 summer comp! Please go along to help with table or cheer on our Stingers on Tuesday night, Wednesday night or Saturday afternoons! Game times are in the fixture on Rev and also published in Stingers Members each week. 
• Sunday, 13 Feb 22 - Booty Olympics is on! Our famous Bootcamp finisher is back and as infectious as ever! Come along Sunday afternoon from 3:45 to Gunyama to play, cheer on and socialise with our Booties! Which variant will dominate? Make sure you register beforehand on Rev - no capacity restriction. Reach out to Caitlyn and Pete with questions. 
• Monday, 14 Feb 22 - Vector Fit continues to train us on land for our time in water! Work on that core, functional strength with Stingers in Sydney Park after work.
• Tuesday, 14 Feb 22 - Interest form for the Australian team entry at IGLA22 in Palm Springs (6-10 April) closes! Want a raucous good time in the desert with your favourite queer athletes? Just a few hours outside LA, IGLA22 will be an excellent opportunity to get out of Sydney and have a spectacular polo sesh in a cooled (not heated) pool! We are trying to assemble 1-2 teams (rec and comp) with our sister clubs, but even if we can't send a formal team there will be Stingers attending and there are options available to play! Commit here >
• Friday, 18 Feb 22 - INTRA Season 2 registration closes! Get in on the fun for social and beginner players. We've made some slight modifications to game length, team size, rules, schedule and training...it's a whole new INTRA! Join us to go for glory in our inclusive internal comp. Register here >
• Sunday, 20 Feb 22 - Mardi Gras Fair Day is back! The Stingers will be hanging out at our stall in the Sports Village of Fair Day, alongside many of our Team Sydney sister clubs. Please wear some Stingers garb (swimmers, polos, singlets) to promote the club and if you'd like to volunteer, please reach out to Pete Michael via facebook or email info@sydneystingers.org.au. We are also working on ways to show off our sport in Vic Park during Fair Day a bit more fully...stay tuned for more on that!
• Monday, 21 Feb 22 - The Stingers Delfina Team Shop closes! Get your 20 year and other merch for the quarter. Orders will be avail for pickup from Ryde from 19 March. Use the code SHOPSTINGERS for entry.
• Saturday, 3 Mar 22 - United Stingers Shine in the Mardi Gras Parade! Be sure to show up or tune in to check out our parading through the SCG this year. 
• Late Mar 22 - Stingers End of Summer Season Social! Stay tuned for details...
• 6 - 10 Apr 22 - IGLA Palm Springs is happening! Cheer on  our Stingers from afar.
• 22 - 25 Apr 22 - Rainbow Grudge Match w/ our sister clubs the Brisbane Tritons, Perth White Pointers and Melbourne Surge! More details to come, but be ready to splash in the water and spin on the dance floor all long weekend!
• mid-May 22 - Bootcamp and WPNSW Winter Season start! 

Woah that's a lot! As a big club, there's always heaps going on...don't forget to check the Training Calendar for when we have swim, skill & team and land training on, and cheer on your fellow club members in the METRO and INTRA comps if you have a chance to go along to a game!
