What | This event is specifically for the 2/14th Light Horse Regiment.

The goal of the day is to provide a Resilience Training activity while fostering social connection with Saltwater Veterans and the Mooloolaba Yacht Club. We’ll kick off with a brief on social connection and activities, followed by our crew guiding you through boat rigging and the basics of sailing, including tacking and gybing. Who knows, we might even have a fun race—winner takes all the sheep stations!

The Flow |

    • 0900 – All arrive on-site
    • 0915 – Activity briefing & shore lesson
    • 0930 – Sailing activities commence:
      • 60-minute rotations with groups of 3-4 per boat to introduce basic sailing concepts
    • 1200 - Lunch Break
    • 12:30-  Progress into a series of short-course races in a round-robin format
        • Rotate crews on and off boats via RHIB
        • Viewing of the activity will be possible both on and off the water

    End of activity is approximately 1430

Where | Mooloolaba Yacht Club, 33 Parkyn Parade, Mooloolaba QLD 4557

Parking | Please do not park in the Mooloolaba Marina car park, as it’s exclusive to their members and separate from the Mooloolaba Yacht Club. There is ample parking available on adjacent streets, but please be mindful of parking restrictions.

This is the perfect 'taster' for anyone who wants to discover sailing for the first time. This is the perfect introduction and can be the ideal way for you to begin your sailing journey, without having to commit to a full training course.
