Softball Australia’s Coaching Pathway received an update to accreditation labels which took effect in 2020. Where previous accreditation has been defined by ‘Levels’, new titles have been created to better define the various areas of coaching. The new pathway begins with Foundation, to Performance Talent, to High Performance Elite, to Master.
Foundation Coaching is the first level of accreditation that Softball Australia offers.
You begin the accreditation by completing the Sport Australia online course - Coaching essential skills. You also are required to sign the Coaches Code of Conduct
Coaching Prerequisites (Essential Skills Course & Coaches Code of Conduct)
There are four softball-specific courses that are self-paced and delivered online via Softball Australia.
The first is a beginner course which requires no experience and the next three require some additional certificates to be completed. The links to all four courses are below:
The final component of the foundation accreditation is a face-to-face Coaching Competency Assessment. Once you have completed the prerequisites and online modules you will register for the assessment.
