Andrew's mantra, "Never give up, do your absolute best," echoes in the hearts of those he touched. As a dedicated contributor to the Sutherland Shire Softball Association for over three decades, he became a stalwart figure, embodying qualities of respect, strength, hustle, and timing. His wisdom resonated not only locally but internationally, with over 50 National Championships and four World Championships under his umpiring belt.
Not just a distinguished umpire, Andrew served as the National Umpiring Chief, leading Australian umpires to global acclaim. His commitment to advancing the game earned him a place in the Softball Australia Hall of Fame in 2013 and the Order of Australia medal in 2020, a testament to his unparalleled contribution to the softball community.
A celebration of Andrew's life will take place on January 25th, 2024, at 2:00PM at Woronora Memorial Park, followed by a gathering at The Kyle Bay on Georges River at 4:30PM. For those unable to attend in person, a live stream is available.
