St Patrick Hockey Club caters for players of all levels and fields teams across all levels of the Hockey ACT competitions.
The club was founded in 1954 out of the youth club which was resident at St Patrick's in Braddon. The inspiration for the formation of the club being an enigmatic Irish priest named Barney Lynch who had been a Hurling player back in the old country, before being introduced to Hockey while on a posting to Crookwell.
In 1977 the Club invited Women's Teams to join the ranks and from there the Club has grown to field teams in Men's, Women's, Junior, Indoor and Social competitions. Whilst the club has always maintained a strong social element, Pat's players have progressed to represent both Canberra and Australia.
