The key to becoming a scorer is to start slow and build up your knowledge and skills. To begin to score softball you will need a scorebook and pencil. Your progression through scoring can be as slow or as quick as you desire. Whether you chose to score at a basic level or advanced is all you choice and determined on how much you enjoy the scoring experience.
Prior to becoming an official scorer of softball, the following information provides excellent insights in the role of a scorer. The most suitable resource is available in the Beginning Softball Scoring booklet. It is also helpful to have an understanding of the basic Softball Rules and terminology.
