St Kilda Table  Cricket Table Tennis Club Championships - 2023 to be held at MSAC on Sunday  12th November, 2023 at Midday

Entry is free, and trophies will be awarded to event winners and runners up.

Eligibility – General:

The Club Championships are open to all SKCTTC full members who are financial for the year 2023 (other than social members, $30, who may top up to non-playing full member rate of $100 to qualify).

Events 2 & 3 are the only events that will be seeded.

Timetable of events: Event 1 will start at 12.00 sharp midday and will be played to completion. Events 2 through 7 will start upon completion of event 1.  All events will be in knockout format.    

Event Conditions

1. Shootout: Open to all members. The first player in each match to reach 3 points will be the winner. Serves will alternate each point with the first-named player serving first.

2. Open Singles: Open to all members. Each match will be the best of 5 advantage games, except for the final, which will be the best of 7 advantage games.

3. Open Doubles: Open to all members. Each match will be the best of 5 advantage games, except for the final, which will be the best of 7 advantage games.

4. Open Handicap Singles: Open to all members, EXCEPT the top 10 SEEDED players. Each match will comprise one game up to 31: no advantage (i.e., sudden death). Players will receive a point’s handicap based on past performance in pennant and club championships. Two serves each alternately. No end changes.

5. Open Handicap Doubles: Open to all members, each match will be the best of 5 advantage games. Entrants will be divided into a top and bottom half. Pairs will be selected at random, one from each half.

6. Veterans’ Handicap Singles: Open to all members born 1973 or earlier (i.e.: 50 years of age in 2023) each match will comprise one game up to 31, no advantage (i.e.: sudden death). Players will receive a points handicap based on past performance in pennant and club championships. Two serves each alternately. No end changes.

7. “C Grade” Singles: this applies to the lowest grade. Open to all members of TTV “Lowest Grade “Wednesday pennant standard. The Pennant Sub Committee has absolute discretion regarding eligibility of anyone who is not playing in the bottom grade. All matches will be the best of 5 advantage games.
