Updates from Sports and Active Recreation Sector

For fully vaccinated adults (aged 16 years and over): •The Public Health Order states that people can outdoor sport and exercise at gatherings in groups of up to 20. This figure includes participants, coaches and support staff and spectators/parents. • Unvaccinated children 15 and under may participate in outdoor public gatherings for sport and exercise and count towards the total number of people (cannot exceed 20).

Ongoing updates to return to sport

Here is the latest update from the OoS and NSW Health. It is an update to the interpretations of the latest public health order in relation to sport. This advice is relevant from the 11th October Groups can come together and train in outdoor facilities as long as the groups are 20 or less and a Covid plan is in place.

Updates on Returning to Community Sport

Please find attached an update from Sport NSW. Whilst this is not the roadmap to Community Sport we were hoping to receive by the end of the week, it does provide some guidance on permitted sporting activities at the 70% double vaccinated milestone, these come in to effect this Monday 11th October. We are still seeking clarification on under 16’s and shall keep you posted on any further updates we receive.

Returing to Community Sport

NSW has a clear path to follow out of the pandemic and lockdowns, with the roadmap for easing restrictions at the 80 per cent double dose target revealing a brighter future for the community.
