The Albury Wodonga Big Splash is an annual community swimming carnival to raise awareness for mental health. The Albury Wodonga Big Splash always runs on the first Wednesday in March at Albury Swim Centre and the program comprises a series of fun, funny and outright ridiculous swimming relay races. It is a warm and joyful evening designed to bring people together for some entertainment and competition with funds being directed to headspace and Survivors of Suicide & Friends. The Albury Wodonga Big Splash is coordinated by the Albury Tigers Water Polo Club in memory of 15 year old player Mary Baker, who tragically took her life in March 2011. The major sponsor is Hume Bank and several other local business generously also donate funds, prizes and their efforts.
