Australian Sailing - 2. Start Sailing Intro

Course information

The first step to our SSCBC junior pathway is Cara na Mara (“Friends Of The Sea”) which is a fun filled sailing course for 5 – 7 year olds.

The course runs for four days with two hours each session.

 

The primary aim is to introduce young sailors to the water and boating in general, in a controlled and safe environment. This sailing course has a maximum of 3 children to 1 instructor ratio, where the instructors are in the boat with the sailors the entire time.

 

Parents can expect their children to go sailing, play fun games and enjoy speed boat rides. All instructors are qualified Australian Sailing Instructors and all courses are conducted under SSCBC’s Safety Operations Plan.

 

Course fee:
$250 for SSCBC Members
$300 for Non-Members

Please note: Only one course can be booked and paid for at a time.

Water confident.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing Intro completion certificate. 

 

We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. To learn more, click here
