The idea of the Transition Squad is to provide coaching for youth sailors who don't have a boat yet and have not decided which class they want to join. This program aims both at sailors joining the coaching program after completing OutThere Sailing and sailors who have grown out of the Opti and are no longer taking part in the Opti coaching. While you are part of the Transition Squad, you gain time to transition, exposure to different boats and new skills (trapeze, kites). The Transition Squad mainly uses Quests and Lasers, but occasionally tries other classes too. Sessions run on Sundays during normal coaching hours.

Program Focus:

Following the structure and instruction in learn-to-sail programs. Green Fleet is an introduction to coaching and learning to train.

Green Fleet promotes practicing the fundamental skills of sailing, introduces some foundation race skills through training activities in an environment that is enjoyable, without a competition focus.

During the Program sailors are encouraged to take part in freesail activity, and to trial a variety of boats, boards, and other club related activity through age appropriate design.
