Dear Snowboard Community,
August marked an eventful month for Australian riders with Mt Hotham playing host to the SBX ANC and FIS JNR SBX races. The races were action packed with Australian talent filling out the podiums for each race.
The FIS JNR SBX race was taken out by Maya Billingham and Cameron Turner in the Women’s and Men’s event, following that in the SBX ANC 1, was a nail-biting finish that saw Cam Bolton topping the Men’s podium, with Mia Clift finishing strong in the Women’s race and claiming victory. Bolton continued his winning ways in the second ANC with fellow OWIA athlete, Josie Baff claiming the gold in the 3rd women’s ANC. Finally, after a lengthy break of over 6 years in FIS level Snowboard racing, former NSWIS athlete, Matthew Thomas came away with the win in the final Men’s ANC race.
You can view the full results from each race at the following link to see how all our Aussie competitors went:

Due to the deteriorating snow conditions, the Chumpy Pullin FIS JNR SBX Series stops at Thredbo were unable to go ahead. Due to this, a similar format that was used last year was followed to determine the points and winners, with the combined results of all FIS JNR aged athletes from the FIS JNR SBX race at Hotham and the three ANC races being used.
From this, Maya Billingham and Cameron Turner each claimed this year’s Chumpy Series title, congratulations to both Maya and Cameron! You can see the full results from the series on the following event page.
2024 FIS JNR SBX Series - Snow Australia
It was great to see so many young Snowboarders competing at their respective State Interschools events earlier this month. National Interschools is right around the corner with the event kicking off next week at Perisher. We’re looking forward to seeing the next generation of Snowboard racers battle it out to see who can be crowned the Australian Interschools Champion for their respect gender and division.
We hope everyone enjoys the remainder of the season.
All the best,
Snowboard Discipline Committee
