NSTC Update - August 2024

Winter is here and activity at the NSTC is in full swing.  Acro classes have commenced for Term 3 and classes are filling fast.  Park sessions continue into the winter with guests making good use of the airbag when not on the mountain giving them the best of both worlds!  More information on the Acro and Park sessions can be found below.

The winter sports athletes are in residence and are training hard in the gym making use of all the facilities available to them at the NSTC.  With the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics and Paralympics in 2026 just over 18 months away, athletes are making the most of their training time in preparation for the upcoming Northern winter.  Keep an eye on all the athlete’s performances and success in upcoming Snow Australia e-news publications.

ACRO Update

The community NSTC Acro classes have commenced for Term 3. Registrations for classes can be made online via the NSTC website and are filling fast.

We have re-introduced Tiny Tumblers to the Acro schedule.  These 45-minute classes will be held on Wednesday mornings at 9.30am and 10.30am catering for 3 & 4 year old toddlers.  Parents participate with their child under coach guidance and work through sensory-based circuits to promote motor learning and physical literacy.

The Female only Acro class on Wednesday afternoons proved popular during term 2 and will continue into Term 3.  This class is designed for young women aged between 13 -1 6 years to elevate skills and boost confidence in a fun environment.  The “Empower Your Leap” class is held on Wednesday afternoons from 4.45 – 5.45pm and welcome young women of all levels of skill to join.

Permanent bookings of any Acro class for the Term will receive a 10% discount off the 10-week program when paid in full at the time of booking. Remaining permanent classes for the term will be charged on a pro-rata basis. Alternatively, individual casual sessions may be booked throughout the term as required.

Adult classes are now available on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during the winter and run for 90min sessions starting from 7pm. For details on all of the classes available on the Term 3 Acro schedule, go to the NSTC webpage

The safety of all children at the NSTC is vital and we kindly ask that all children are dropped off and picked up by a parent and/or caregiver from inside the venue. Please do not ask your children to meet you at the car in the carpark.

We have noticed that a number of parents are using the upper driveway as a drop off/pick up zone.  This area is for staff access only. For the safety of all guests, please park in the lower carpark only.

PARK Update

Please note there is a change of time for the airbag and Intro2Plastic sessions during some sessions in August.  Intro2Plastic will commence at 1.45pm with airbag sessions commencing immediately after at 2.30 until 5pm.  This change is due to the low light which occurs at this time of the year.  Times will shift back in mid August as the days start to get a little longer.

Due to International private bookings during August, the HP bag will not operate during community sessions on Friday 16 & Saturday 17 August and Friday 23 & Saturday 24 August.  Please keep this in mind when booking online for these dates.

Don’t forget that airbag specific wax is available for purchase to assist in prepping your equipment prior to arriving for your airbag sessions. Alternatively, our experienced NSTC staff can wax your equipment onsite at a cost.

For details on sessions and equipment requirements, please go to the NSTC Park webpage
