Snowboard Community Update - March 2024 |
Dear Snowboard Community,
In the blink of an eye, we are already in March, wow! What a exciting month we have had in Snowboard racing.
The recent European Cup races in Colere were successful with Belle Brockhoff finishing with gold and silver medals. She was joined by NSWIS Development Team rider James Johnstone on the podium finishing in second place, claiming his first European Cup medal. See full results below:

Last week was a huge week in Grasgehren, Germany. There was a Para Snowboard World Cup SBX event where we saw Ben Tudhope claim back-to-back Silver. Following on from that event, history was made when Ben Tudhope and Maya Billingham were the first to compete in a FIS mixed Team event with Para and able body participants (find out more about this event in the article below). The following day a European Cup race was held with eleven Australian’s competing. ETP athlete Maya was the best of the Aussies, claiming her first European Cup silver. Congratulations to Ben and Maya on a successful weekend in Germany and well done to everyone that competed. See all results below:

Thank you to everyone who has put an EOI in for the Alpine Snowboard and Snowboard Cross FIS Junior World Championships. The applications are currently being reviewed by the Snowboard Discipline Committee and the teams will be announced soon. Stay Tuned!
We are just 13 weeks away from the opening weekend, so make sure you are SnowReady by visiting www.snow.org.au/snowready and begin Snow Australia’s fun and interactive ski and snowboard fitness program. Available to people of all ages the weekly physical preparation program will ensure you are ready to hit the slopes when the snow falls.

Tudhope & Billingham take podiums and a slice of history in Germany |
An incredible week of Snowboard and Para Snowboard racing in Grasgehren, Germany saw Ben Tudhope pick up two silver medals at the World Cup, Maya Billingham achieved her career-best result with a silver medal in the Europa Cup and the pair combined to compete in a historic FIS event.

SNOWBOARD CROSS EUROPEAN CUP - COLERE, ITA
Three-time Olympian Belle Brockhoff has finished with a gold and silver medal at the European Cup snowboard cross event in Italy, as she prepared for the next rounds of World Cup competition. The NSWIS rider now has five career European Cup medals.
