The 2025 Easy Times Brewing Co Squash Australian Open Confirmed for Brisbane

Squash Queensland is delighted that the Easy Times Brewing Co Australian Open is heading to Brisbane in March next year.

With squash making its Olympic Games debut in Los Angeles in 2028, having a revamped Australian Open in Brisbane is a perfect opportunity to showcase the sport in the 2032 host city.

Squash Queensland President Andrew Dent said the state body was ready to work hand in hand with Squash Australia to deliver the tournament.

“The South Bank Piazza is the perfect venue for the glass court and will allow sports fans to see just how dynamic and athletic squash is,” Mr Dent said.

“Many people may associate squash with traditional courts and older centres and they will be amazed to see how it has changed over the past two decades with the sheer athleticism of the top players.

“I would like to congratulate Squash Australia on this move and we look forward to being able to promote our sport alongside such a prestigious event.”

Squash Queensland Chief Executive Officer Shantel Netzler said she was looking to hold a number of events to help promote the sport in the Sunshine State including running the Queensland Open as a lead-in event.

“We will also look to run promotional events to tie in with the tournament and put the sport in front of as many Queenslanders as possible,” she said.

“Squash is booming in many parts of the world and we believe a renaissance in Queensland is just around the corner.

“Councils are excited about outdoor courts, which perfectly suit our climate and are now being built in many places in the United States, while many of our centres are now seeing an incredible growth in the number of juniors playing.

“The Easy Times Brewing Co Australian Open will help with this growth even more.”
