2022 October Regatta

The Annual JBSC October Regional Regatta was completed with 6 races on Saturday/Sunday in very tricky conditions.

There was a light SE system breeze that swung initially from SW to SE on Saturday and from NW to SE on Sunday. Adding to the confusion were 'under-rain-cell' winds that shifted from E, NE and W providing shifts that varied 90 degrees from the top to the bottom of the course. The rain cells were very slow moving and produced a series of wind and 'mirror' patches across the bay. This made the course setting a nightmare and demanded extreme patience from the fleet. These conditions are a rarity and generally only occur as the NE sea breeze builds against a light S or SE system breeze. Half the races were pretty ordinary, but there was a range of conditions over the weekend and with 6 races completed, competitors could drop their worst result. The cream, as always, rose to the top!!
