Our Junior Friday Twilight Sailing Series is designed for competent junior sailors aged 10 to 17 that have completed the Green Fleet Program or can demonstrate competent sailing foundation skills in winds of 15 knots or more.

This program includes One Race of a triangle and windward return course, followed by Adventure Games according to the SPASC Friday Twilight Junior Race Fleet sailing instructions and the syllabus includes the following:

1. Boat trim, balance, centreboard position and sail adjustments.
2. Steering without using the tiller / rudder
3. Roll Tacking
4. Approaching and rounding marks effectively
5. Gunwale Capsize Recovery
6. Roll Gybing
7. Positioning and tactics for a race start

Current sailing classes in our junior fleet are Optimists,  O’pen Skiffs and Lasers.  All the equipment, including the boats, is provided for our Junior Friday Twilight Sailing Series and club boats can be chartered for use.

Eligible persons must be either SPASC Family or Junior members

SPASC Youth Sailing Handbook

A Junior Friday Twilight Sailing Series Program Fee is payable via this online registration and  must be completed prior to attending the program. The costs are:

• $180.00 for half season per person using SPASC Club Optimist, O’pen Skiff or Laser
• $50 for half season per person where member owns a suitable boat.
