School Holiday Sailing
School Holidays are just around the corner and Southport Yacht Club is offering Sailing for children from the ages of 7-17 no matter what their sailing abilities are.
Our Yachting Australia certified instructors will be able to allocate the sailors in to appropriate groups to suit the different sailing abilities.
The day consists of on water activities as well as off water activities 

Is Winter too cold to sail?

The Gold Coast generally has a mild and pleasant climate, even during the winter months. While the temperatures may be cooler compared to the summer season, it is not too cold to sail and the days are sunnier on average than the summer season. The average winter temperatures range from around 18-25 degrees Celsius. Sailing conditions can vary depending on the specific day and weather patterns. However, sailors continue to enjoy their water activities during the winter months on the Gold Coast. It's a good idea to dress appropriately for the conditions to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable sailing experience. Generally a jacket is all thats required to stay warm on the water and some warm clothes to put on after sailing. 

What is required:
- Hat, sunscreen, water bottle, towel and a change of clothes
- A packed morning tea and lunch and plenty of water!
- All participants should arrive 15 minutes prior to the camp commencing
- All participants MUST sign ON and sign OFF at the sailing office
- Please ensure that kids have warm clothes should they get cold on the day
