The Southbank Strikers Hockey Club was formed in order to provide an independant team for players over 40. In the last two years the Club has tended to specialise in players 60 and over as the BHA Masters Committee moves towards an age restrictive division for this age group. Many players who sign-up with Southbank Strikers come from Clubs that don't have a team in the BHA Masters Competition that they can play in. All are welcome!
Southbank Strikers welcomes all comers!
The original "team" was called "the Strikers", however at different times the Club has had more than one team team in the BHA (Veterans) Masters Competition, sometimes up to three teams in the one season. Each of these Southbank teams are given names of their own, sometimes reflecting a collaboration or link to other Clubs or entities. Apart from the original "Southbank Strikers" team there have been:
- Southbank Storm;
- Sunshine Strikers;
- Redcliffe Strikers; and so on.
- The Club has also helped other Clubs make their start in the Masters Competition eg. Norths Valley and others
Over the years the Club has had joint teams with a number of Clubs including South West United, Northern Suburbs and Redcliffe Leagues Hockey Clubs.
The current Southbank Strikers Hockey Club team plays as Valley Strikers which is an alliance between our club and Valley Hockey Club.
