Course information
This is a customised Beginners Windsurfing course designed to teach essential fundamental skills.
Teaching good safety skills and windsurfing techniques are our priority.
Sailors that can accomplish the skills quickly (or already have them) can progress to advanced skills and free sailing with other experienced windsurfing coaches during the same session.
The sessions run Friday from 4:00 to 6:30. It is highly recommended to do all sessions
This course is ideally suited to:
- Adults with no sailing experience but the determination to learn
- Current Gold fleet sailors
- Current Youth Sailors
- Other club members wanting to cross-train their skills
Minimum age of 12. For all others; we recommend that you are fit and agile for dynamic, on-water activities.
The fee includes coaching and the use of Club equipment including:
- Bic Techno boards
- Windsurfer One Design
- Windsurfer LT
- Windsurfer LT School

Who should do this course?
This course is designed for participants who wish to begin windsurfing. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.
Course Outcome
You will gain your Start Windsurfing completion certificate.
We recognise that some of our course participants are completing the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and may be using sailing and/or club membership to complete one or more sections of The Award. To learn more, click here.
