FAQ

1. What do I need to bring for the tournament?

You can use this checklist to prepare for your tournament (please suggest if there is anything you think should be included):

  • Your badminton racket(s) - you might need more than one, if you know you tend to break your strings
  • Towel, change of clothes, change of racket grips
  • Team uniform (if any)
  • Badminton shoes (if any)
  • Water bottle - there is a water dispenser near the entrance of Stadium 4 (Badminton Hall)
  • Knee/elbow/wrist braces, bandaids, sports tapes, spiky balls (optional)
  • Food & snack - MSAC has Sir Albert Cafe where you can buy coffee, tea, other drinks, snacks, rolls and sandwiches.

2. What else do I need to do?

  • You may want to communicate with your partner to come early to the venue.
  • You may also want to come a bit early so you have enough time to warm up. Good warm-ups will enable you to play in your top condition from the start. Examples below, but there are heaps of other warm-ups on the internet.
  • Prepare for your transport - Tram 96 and 12 will give you direct access to MSAC, but be mindful that they may be running on different timetables on weekend. Parking is available inside MSAC premises and on the surrounding streets. Please plan beforehand.
  • Read the rules and schedule of the tournament - they should have been communicated to you directly via email.
  • Keep yourself hydrated (hydration tablets/drinks might help)
  • Help us with umpiring or line judging.

3. Will you take pictures or videos of the tournaments and the participants?

We may take pictures or videos to immortalise our tournaments, and we may use them on the club's website too. We're sure it will be good memories for the club and the players too. But, we'll ask your permission first. Let us know if you would like to withdraw your consent on us using your images (photos and videos).
