Sapphire Coast Trail Running Series - Event 1 of 4 - The Tip Trail Run – 12km / 6km
Event information
***SCR MEMBERS ONLY EVENT***
The SCR are kicking off another Trail Running Series to provide an opportunity for any novice to seasoned runner a chance to experience, in a group environment, some of the many amazing bush trails our local area has to offer.
The series will be conducted over four trail events, with the first event commencing at 8am sharp on the 18th of July 2021.
For event 1, participants will choose to complete the 12km or the 6km course.
There will be no pre-registration, so you can just turn up and decide what works best for you.
The event will have a timekeeper and the results will be recorded. Saying this however, a strong emphasis will be on Participation. So whether you want to walk or run over the shorter or the longer distance, the aim will be to get as many participants to join in the experience of running or walking on some of our awesome local trails.
The course is an out and back course, starting at the top of Red Hill Road at the gate to the Bournda National Park (near the entrance to the Merimbula Tip) and following the well graded Merimbula Tip Fire Trail to either the 3km turn around (Witches hat / Marshall) or the 6km turn around (Locked gate / Marshall).
What you’ll need to bring – Apart from suitable clothes and a sturdy pair of runners or walking shoes or boots, you’ll need to bring a water bottle, a mobile phone and any personal medication, e.g. Ventolin… Water will be supplied. However, there will not be any cups.
The aim will be to get everyone at the start by 7.45am for check-in and safety brief.
If you’re interested or going, let us know, we’d love to see you there 😊
*And stay tuned for information on future events in this Trail Running Series!
