Welcome to our Playground - Channel 7 Sunrise

Last Thursday 3 December Sailing featured on Australia’s number one breakfast show Sunrise. The live crosses featured the best of sailing, from Tackers participants to our Australian Sailing Team stars set to represent the country at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Host Sam Mac worked his way around the club, sharing details on how to get involved at your local sailing club as we launch into our summer seasons.

Interviews included Middle Harbour Yacht Club’s Commodore Peter Lewis and CEO Mark Maybury who provided the message that Clubs around Australia are open for business and welcome everyone to discover sailing this summer. 

Tess Lloyd and Jaime Ryan from the Australian Sailing Team discussed their selection for the Olympics and talked about how they got involved in the sport at an early age. 

Middle Harbour’s Tackers participants provided host Sam Mac with some fun insights on what they love about Sailing and showcased skills on water.

Lisa Darmanin and Jason Waterhouse from the Australian Sailing team shared their Rio Olympics Silver medal and discussed their preparation for the Tokyo Olympics.  

It was great national coverage to inspire viewers to get in touch with their local club to explore what Sailing has to offer.
