SheSails Steering the Course success
The inaugural SheSails National Leadership Conference last night was a great success, with the largest SheSails gathering to date (albeit virtually) seeing close to 200 participants dialing in from sailing clubs across Australia.
Participants were treated to an impressive line-up of speakers who shared their insights on how to drive female participation in our sport and empowering women and girls to reach their full potential. For those that were unable to tune in please find the webinar recording below to watch at your own leisure and to share with others.
Australian Sailing would like to thank Sue Cormack who took the helm as the conference facilitator and to all the guest speakers:
- Sarah Ogilvie, Australian Sailing Club Pathways Lead
- Sarah Kenny, Vice President of World Sailing
- Sarah Styles, Director of the office for Women in Sport and Recreation
- Lisa Darmanin, Australian Sailing Team member and Dual Olympian (Rio & Tokyo)
- Fiona McManus & Kelly Wilson from NT, Darwin Sailing Club
- Robert Crofts & Genevieve Wickham from WA, Royal Perth Yacht Club
- Tanya Kelly from QLD, Mooloolaba Yacht Club
In addition to delivering this event, Australian Sailing were proud to launch two more exciting SheSails initiatives over the past week as part of World Sailing’s Steering the Course Southern Hemisphere Festival:
- The new SheSails promotional video to encourage women and girls of Australia to explore what their local sailing clubs have to offer:
- The ‘SheLearns’ section on the SheSails website, an area that houses various workshops and webinars (including last night’s conference event) specifically aimed at women and girls which are recorded and to watch at any time.
