Port Esperance Sailing Club rebuilding for the future
In March 2020 Port Esperance Sailing Club (PESC) lost their clubhouse and sailing dinghies in a devastating fire. Following an incredible amount of hard work and with generous contributions from the Tasmanian Government, as well as many other groups, individuals, businesses and the sailing community, a new clubhouse has been rebuilt. Construction commenced in early 2022 and the main clubhouse building and toilets have now reached occupancy.
Over the last 3 years PESC has rebuilt their sail training fleet and been operating their dinghy sailing program from a rented storage shed without power, lighting, or showers. What is desperately needed now is the completion of the final stage of the rebuilding project that will provide fully operational sailing facilities, that includes a dinghy storage and wash down area, showers and changing rooms.
PESC are still desperately seeking funding to complete the rebuild and have some sailing facilities once again. The club are asking those able to assist in the rebuilding of Tasmania’s southernmost sailing club to please visit their website and consider their ‘Buy a Brick’ fundraising program.
