ORC Club Rating: New Clubs have joined the game!
During the last six months, ORC Club rating has generated a lot of interest from Clubs and Sailors in NSW, VIC and QLD.
Both large and smaller clubs are showing interest, with clubs like Southport Yacht Club, the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron and Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron recently deciding to implement the ORC Club rating for their Club series. They are joining the long-time users of this rating like the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club and Balmain Sailing Club.
ORC Club has got all the characteristics to be the perfect club rating. It is at the same time:
Affordable! The rating certificate costs just $90 per year and, Australian Sailing is offering a 50% discount for all new applicants to ORC Club.
Easy to use! Measurements are declared by the owner or the club measurer to avoid any extra costs. The Club can determine whether measurements must be checked by a measurer or self-declared.
Accurate! ORC Club is using the ORC rating software which is one of the best rating calculations available. This same software is used by Naval Architects to optimize boat design.
Transparent! The calculation is available online, so too are all the ORC ratings that have been issued over the last 10 years.
Sailor-friendly! By providing your boat polars and target speeds, it helps sailors to improve their skills.
Locally Managed! by Australian Sailing.
ORC Club is filling the gap between PHS and IRC/ORCi and is helping bring sailors into competitive racing without increasing the costs or complexity.
