NT Championships

It was an unusual Dry Season weekend with cloudy skies and light breezes. The light winds made racing a challenge for everyone and kept the Race Officers on their toes. It was a good turnout of boats for the NT Championships with some very close racing in each division.

Light winds saw only 7 races from the 8 scheduled races held over the weekend. Saturday was hard work with a top wind speed of 6 knots, conditions improved on Sunday with a steadier breeze. The hotly contested ILCA division was a combination of rigs with results on yardstick to determine the winners.

Three divisions (Tasar, ILCA & RS Quest) were so close that it came down to the final race to determine the winner with 1 point separating first and second at the conclusion of the event.  A massive thank you to the race day volunteers for their efforts in challenging conditions. Everyone had a great weekend on the water despite the lights winds and I am sure will all be back again in 2025.
