Lane Cove 12ft Skiff Sailing Club
Lane Cove 12ft Sailing Skiff Club (LC12ftSSC) is currently looking for enthusiastic, passionate and experienced dinghy instructors to assist in delivering our Australian Sailing Discover Sailing Centre Learn-to-Sail Courses for 2024/25. These will be paid contract roles, supported by volunteer Assistant Instructors and Club members.
About the Club
LC12ftSSC is located on the lower reaches of the Lane Cove River, adjacent to Longueville Wharf. It is a family friendly, community Club composed of 200+ sailing members, associates and supporters. It is an Australian Sailing accredited Discover Sailing Centre (DSC), overseen by DSC Principal and 3-time Olympian Karyn Gojnich. The Club runs comprehensive Learn to Sail Courses for kids and teens, using the Club’s dedicated fleet of 10 Sabots and 4 Lasers.
About the Role
Applications are invited for Australian Sailing Qualified Dinghy Instructors to assist with running four Learn to Sail holiday courses throughout the 2024/25 sailing season (2-3 positions available)
Requirements
- Australian Sailing Dinghy Instructor Qualification
- Powerboat Handling Certificate (PB Level 2)
- NSW Boat Licence
- First Aid certificate
- Working with Children Check
- Instructors must be available for at least two of the Club’s four Learn to Sail Programs
- 30 Sep - 4 Oct, 2024 (5 days)
- 8 Oct - 11 Oct, 2024 (4 days)
- 16 Dec - 20 Dec, 2024 (5 days)
- 20 Jan - 24 Jan, 2025 (5 days)
- Strong people management, communication and relationship building skills
- Ability to supervise, mentor and encourage Assistant Instructors
- A positive attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to act as ambassadors for the Club and its values.
