Happy New Year!

It has been a busy summer in SA with nationals at Meningie Sailing Club for Mozzy Nationals, Victor Harbor Yacht Club for Taipan Nationals, Largs Bay Sailing Club for International 420 & 470 Australian Championships, Brighton & Seacliff Yacht Club for a188 Fleet International Optimist Australian Championships and the most significant event to come to our state with the 2024 ILCA Events, at Adelaide Sailing Club.

2024 ILCA Event continue this week with the ILCA 7 World Championships.  

153 Sailors representing 53 countries will be competing for the world championship and also 7 qualifying positions for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The 2024 ILCA 7 Mens World Championships opened on Thursday 25th January with an engaging welcome to country from Robert Taylor and honoured by special guests Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, World Sailing President Quanhaiu Li and Australian Sailing President Alistair Murray.

A shout out to the to the incredible work from Adelaide Sailing Club Commodore Peter Royle and Vice Commodore Malcolm Hughes and the team of volunteers at the ILCA Events.  Over 80 Volunteers a day are for each event to cover the onshore and on-water requirements.  The RAA Volunteer Hub is the perfect place for volunteers to check in daily and be hydrated and fuelled for the solid days of a world-class volunteer.  Volunteers have gathered for the event from clubs all across SA and thank you to all.
