VOLUNTEERS

NT Sports Volunteer Network

NT Sport & Recreation has created the NT Volunteer Network. Here you will find valuable resources and be able to connect with other sports volunteers in the Territory.

Registration

Volunteer Skills Sessions

Run every 2 months at both DBCYA & DSC on a variety of topics that can assist to upskill Race Day Volunteers. The training is FREE and a great way to get to know other volunteers. If your club (or you) have a specific topic you would like to see added to the program, please email claire.hall@sailing.org.au

FUNDING

Coach & Official Scholarships

The Northern Territory Sport Academy (NTSA) is launching an exciting program to support and develop coaches and officials in the NT. Nominations are open for accredited volunteer coaches who are ambitious, self-directed learners, and committed to improving practical application. Successful candidates will get chances to improve their coaching and officiating skills, knowledge, and experience.

The scholarship is of a 6-month duration commencing 1 September 2024 and concludes 28 February 2025. Applications will remain open until July 31.

SAVE THE DATE

Youth Sail NT (10-14 July)

Previously known as the JuniorSail Regatta, YouthSail NT is the premier Youth and Junior sailing event in the Top End! This event is open to all Australian Sailing affiliated sailors both in the NT and Interstate. This Coaching Clinic and Regatta is designed around Fun, Learning and Racing, there is something to suit all levels of sailor.

NT Championships (27 & 28 July)

The premier event for off the beach classes with the winner in each division being crowned NT Champion. The regatta runs over 2 days with 8 races scheduled. Racing commences at 1000 both days with back-to-back races in each session.

COME & TRY FOILING

Come & Try Foiling throughout the July school holidays. Open to adults and kid alike, we will have 2 x demo boats (Skeeta & Nikki) available throughout the month for willing sailors to try out. Anyone who gets the bug will have the opportunity to purchase either boat at a reduced price thanks to the sponsors Rise SP & Skeeta Watersports.
