2023 South Australian Sailing Summit

Published Thu 11 May 2023

The South Australian Sailing Summit held on Sunday, April 30th, 2023, at the Royal South Australian Yacht Squadron.

We were delighted to have representatives from 10 SA Clubs and 5 SA Class Associations in attendance, and it was a successful day enjoyed by all.

During the summit, Australian Sailing CEO Ben Houston introduced several exciting new initiatives, including the Club and Class Hub, Game Plan, Pulse Survey, and Online Case Study Submission Form, which are now available for clubs and class associations.

The event also included newly introduced workshops on the Club Participation Program and Club Survey, as well as presentations from Australian Sailing CEO Ben Houston, YSA President Kirsty Dunn, Australian Sailing GM SA Kylie Baker, and National Growth & Development Manager Sarah Olgivie. We were also fortunate to have welcomed guest presenters, such as Malcolm Hughes from Adelaide Sailing Club, who shared a case study on Officials volunteers and regattas, Paul Zimny and Nick Bice launching the 2023 Dockside Festival, Zhik, Revolutionised Sport, Marine Network Insurance, who created a group discussion and offered opportunities for clubs to join.

We thank Australian Sailing Vice President Shevaun Bruland and YSA President Kirsty Dunn for joining the workshop activities.

We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who participated in the sailing, clubs, class associations, and community conversation. The SA Sailing Summit Presentations are now available at the below link.
