Dear FFI Member

At a recent FFI Council Meeting changes to the FFI Constitution and several Class Rules were approved and recommended for ballot of all financial members.

You are well aware the next World Championship has been postponed to March 2023, therefore FFI Council believe it is in the best interests of the class to have a season prior to the worlds to get used to the modified rules.

A change to the constitution is proposed to facilitate a change from the current 3 year cycle for rule changes. Without approval for this motion all the Class Rule changes will be delayed until 2023.

Graeme Robinson (FFI Chief Measurer) has prepared explanatory notes on the Class Rule changes.

The ballot will be electronic and the recommended procedure is as follows:

The Explanatory Notes & Ballot Form can be accessed here

  •  Only financial members may vote.
  • All fields must be completed.
  • Only 1 vote per boat is allowed (even if jointly owned)
  • A member who has more that 1 boat is only allowed 1 vote
  • Approval/Disapproval of an item is based on the votes cast in the ballot.
  • Any votes missing a name and/or boat number will be void.
  • Your vote will be sent to your secretary who will forward the final numbers per item to FFI.

Voting will open on 17th September and close on 11th October.

We look forward to your cooperation in achieving a successful ballot.

Good Sailing

Michael Clark

Secretary
