Due to inclement weather, the Barnes Bay Cruise in November was cancelled. As a result, the Cruising Committee has combined the cruise with the Richardsons Beach Picnic taking place on the return of the Barnes Bay Cruise.
A popular spot for weekend cruisers leaving Hobart on Friday evening, Barnes Bay and its environs offers many sheltered anchorages in all weather. You can visit the historic Quarantine Station on Bruny Island, head over to Kettering for the Sunday paper, visit the Bruny Island House of Whisky and try Tassie’s best range of whisky and gin, head to Peppermint Bay for dinner, or dine aboard in the Duckhole. A chance to catch up with other RYCT cruisers and talk about summer cruising plans.
On the return cruise on Sunday will be the Richardsons Beach Picnic. A good day for the whole family, and a chance to catch up with cruising friends before the Christmas break just a few miles from Hobart. BYO food and drink, table, chairs and sunscreen. Some of the club’s portable BBQs will be provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own.
Details on cruise leader, radio skeds etc will be shared with registrants via email.
