Refund Policy

Unless otherwise specified by the Centre if an individual cancels their participation in a Course/Event, then the refund policy is set out below:

In every circumstance where a refund is requested, the first option is to transfer the participant to another applicable Course/Event. Where this is not possible, the following conditions apply:

  1. Notice period of Cancellation –
    1. Less than 7 days prior to the Course/Event - No Refund
    2. More than 7 and less than 14 days prior to the Course/Event - 50% Refund (less any transaction fees)
    3. More than 14 days prior to the Course/Event - 100% Refund (less any transaction fees)
  1. Cancellation due to illness, injury or death:

If a participant is unable to participate in the Course/Event and can produce appropriate evidence, the fee will be fully refunded (less any transaction fee applied by the merchant).

  1. Event cancellation:

If the Event is cancelled by the event organiser, the fee will be fully refunded.

  1. Force Majeure:

If a Course/Event is cancelled due a reason outside the control of the organiser, a refund may be provided at the discretion of the Course/Event organiser.

 

DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Participants shall participate in the Squads entirely at their own risk. The Organising Authority and their respective officers, employees, volunteers and members, will not accept any liability for any loss, material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the race.

 

The Organising Authority is not responsible for the seaworthiness of a competitor’s boat whose entry is accepted or the sufficiency or adequacy of its equipment.

 

Competitors attention is drawn to RRS 4.0 ‘Decision to Race’.

“The responsibility for a boats’ decision to participate in a race or to continue racing is hers alone.”

 

INSURANCE

A boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance, with a minimum cover of not less than AUD $5,000,000 (recommended AUD $10,000,000).

 

MEDIA RIGHTS AND RESTRICTIONS

Each competitor participating in the series consents to the Organising Authority distributing information to the competitor regarding, racing, marketing and associated event information including social events. This information may be distributed by email, web, mail, fax, mobile phone messaging and telephone.

 

Conditions of entry include a requirement that the Person in Charge of the boat and crew;

- Acknowledge that the Organising Authority owns all media rights to the series and may exercise those rights as it sees fit,

- Grant the Organising Authority and Event Partners the unconditional, perpetual right and authority to publish and broadcast anywhere in the world, for any purpose and in any media, the names, images and biographical information relating to the crew and photographs, video footage and audio recordings taken of the boat and its crew prior to, during and after the race.

 

Acknowledgment

I have read, understood, acknowledge and agree to the above declaration including the warning, exclusion of liability, release and indemnity.

I acknowledge that if my application to enter the Course is successful I will be entitled to participate in the Course.
