Program Overview

Established in 2000, the Squadron Keelboat Program’s mission is to develop a community of world-class keelboat sailors with the skills and knowledge to lead and support highperformance keelboat campaigns. The program conducts annual training squads for sailors over 14 years of age, catering for sailors new to keelboat racing and those targeting international competitions. Utilising RSYS’s fleet of Elliott 7’s keelboats, the program also hosts several world class event each year including the Hardy Cup.

Senior Squad (17 – 22yrs) This squad caters for high-performance sailors and previous SKP participants. During the program participants will develop campaign planning as well as advanced fleet and match racing skills. Throughout the season participants will have the opportunity to represent RSYS at a variety of events in both fleet and match racing disciplines. Participants may also have the opportunity to compete on Members yachts. Participants typically spend up to four years in this squad.
