Course information
At the Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron, Ladies of the Sea Program has been developed as a Women ONLY course aimed at providing a supportive environment for you learn the ropes. The courses are conducted on our exciting fleet of Elliott 7m Keelboats and taught by accredited Australian Sailing Instructors using the Australian Sailing 'Keelboat Program'. Our keelboats allow you to learn to sail without the fear of capsizing and onboard with several other people learning alongside you. Learning to sail in a self-righting keelboat provides a learning platform that is stable yet responsive.
The 5th and last session of the course is set as a 'Keelboat Experience' day, where sailors will get the opportunity to sail on a members yacht. This day is not part of the syllabus, but is a way for sailors to get a feel of sailing on different yachts, and get to know our members. Sailors will be able to purchase lunch in the CCA back at the Club following their sail on the harbour.
PLEASE NOTE: THE SPINNAKER COURSE CANNOT BE TAUGHT ALONGSIDE OTHER COURSES, A MINIMUM OF 3 PARTICIPANTS IS REQUIRED FOR THE COURSE TO GO AHEAD.
