Learn to sail each Wednesday evening this Summer

Women on Water is a great opportunity to learn and/or improve your skills in a safe and constructive environment under the supervision of coaches on the water, with instruction in match and short course racing. It starts when daylight saving kicks in and is a great way to end a work-day, forget your worries and learn something new.

Over this summer, RSAYS Academy will conduct two 10-week series in the Club’s J24 keelboats. Sessions will be held amidst the excitement of the Wednesday Twilight Race Series, and following your sail, you will have the opportunity to dine with your crew and all the other twilight race crews on the Quarterdeck. Bring your partners or family along for the post-race fun.

You will be learning out on the calm waters of the river for two hours. As skills develop and if you wish, you may be put into teams, and in the second series, you will have the opportunity to compete in the Twilight Series.

 

• Individuals and groups, beginners and intermediate welcome
• If you want to form a team of 3 or 4, we’ll train your team and provide a boat
• Calm water sailing / Club J24 keelboats made available
• Great inclusive social environment, both on and off the water
• And there’s dolphins!!

 

Series 1 - 10 sessions each from Wednesday 12 October – 14 December 2022, 6-8pm*.

Series 2 - 10 sessions each from Wednesday 18 January - 29 March 2023, 6-8pm*

*Light permitting

 

Booking Information

You are able to book in five-week blocks and register online which weeks you can attend.

Cost $100 for a five-week block.

Completing both 10-week programs will give you a significant discount on a RSAYS crew membership for the following year and sailing season. With a crew membership, opportunities open up for other races, club inshore and offshore, and interstate regattas right through to the big interstate ocean races. Completion also provides Australian Sailing attainment certificates for those who wish to progress their sailing more formally.
