RPYC Race Management & Mark laying course
Details
Event information
The Club is looking to build its pool of volunteers in the lead up to a busy season in 2020/21. RPYC will be involved in three major regattas in addition to the usual regattas the Club runs that season.
These regattas will be run over the course of November and January on both the ocean and the river.
Etchells Worlds 18th – 27th November 2020 (Ocean)
Australian Youth Nationals 10th – 14th January 2021 (River)
Warren Jones Youth MR Late January Date TBD (River)
RPYC has a proud history of running successful events and we want to ensure the regattas in 2020/21 are no different.
The 24th August will be an opportunity for Club members to broaden their knowledge in either the area of Race Management or Mark Laying or both. We encourage anyone wanting to become a member of the wider volunteer group to come along or even those sailors wishing to extend their knowledge base for their own benefit when out racing.
The Race Management course will cover:
- Starting procedures
- Racing Flags
- How a course is set
- How a start line is set
