The start of the ROX 2019 Season for Rookies saw a fresh start with beaming sunshine a change from the recent winter weather.

Evan “shufty” directed for the day, and an early eager bunch of newcomers were led by Nicholas "hekatonkheires“ in laying out the winning “snoopy” track featuring a flag wall and 2 gates, one a new material prototype.

Our Rookie champions were scarce on the day, however the addition of some new pilot prospects in Jordan, Matthew and Anthony with the return of Park and Nicholas “hekatonkheires” made for a day of surprises. Welcome to new member Nathan who completed laps despite it being his 2nd FPV flight and only 2nd week flying.

Newcomer Matthew found race atmosphere pushing him to go a little too hard missing out a berth in the finals. Hekatonheries with a shiny new set of motors was plagued by gremlins of technology, his day a serious of repairs retiring early.

Aaron “muzza” pushed his overnight bug aside to take out 2nd place, slightly surprised by the clean flowing lines of Anthony who made drone racing look like his calling taking out 1st place. His wing man practice found rhythm taking out 3rd spot. Park rounded out the podium with a 4th place.
