Congratulations to the FPVR Summer Season Rotorcross Round 2 Winners.

Second round of the season championship. 3 more rounds to go. Leaderboard has been updated!

Huge thanks to;

Robert (frosty’s dad) for handling the BBQ,
Jayde for assisting with Drinks and Coffees
timmytron & Triz who made it a little special too! Oh,
and
Hans for Race Directing.

All the pilots who helped us setup with some onsite @ 7am!!!!

24 pilots for the day, with top seeded waffleFPV absent the Pro pilots had an opportunity to get some juicy points. Last minute scratchings of CptKirkus and ChipFPV from Pilot class. Though we had Mr_G and CJay debut in their first ROX Pilot Class race. Mr_G had one of “those” days breaking 4 cameras. CJay looks quite the contender. Richo decided he go Pro and did well on the day, he’s a quiet achiever.

The track of corkscrews, triples, dive gate and 3 level tower designed by “steel” won out in voting however with the “usual sharing” of opinions, technical vs. flowy and how these on race day influence skill developments. It felt like a RR community reaction, though at least its about a track.

The strong easterly winds made for some interesting “living” gates. Something was in the wind with all pilots on edge, grumpy and anxious to get things going. The mamafpv dive gate stood up solidly to the ultimate race day test. Practice was desperately needed with such a technical track. Many failing to complete even 2 laps, the consensus was a 2 lap race.

The finals in both classes were tight with a bar tab voucher on offer for the winner of each class. At each obstacle all 4 quads seemed to be on each other’s tails. This was particularly the case in Pro class with a controversial 2nd round needing 3 spotters as well as video replay to work out placings for Macka and shufty. Shufty experienced what is known locally as Leipold luck better luck next time.

In Pilot class the competition was hot between frosty, ChrisP and Driphta who dominated in the heats. Scarface just made it to finals breaking stuff along the way.
.
Big shout outs and love again to Timmytron (CMRC) and Triz (eastside) who spent the weekend flying with us while over here on official AUFPV business.
