Duration: 6 Weekends on Sunday. Course: 24 hours + 6 hours of race

The Junior squad is a development squad made up of Youth Sailors in Pacer and Quest to become competitors.

Group training occurs regularly, run by their invaluable coaches, leading the fleets towards State, National and World level competition. Junior squad is very closely integrated with our Club Racing, which runs weekly in the Summer Season (September – April). Training generally does not slow down during the Winter Season as there is regular Club Racing at this time of the year.

It’s a great way to meet new friends, practice sailing techniques and develop an understanding of basic racing rules. Junior Squad is designed to introduce sailors and their families to racing and to what it means to be part of a Yacht Club community in a fun and simple way.

Course Prerequisites

• Water confident
• have done tackers 3 or have been evaluated by a coach
• 10-17 years old

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to have fun and learn the basics of racing through games on and off the water, but also specific work on sailing better.
