Description: This course is aimed at the first time sailor, or keelboat sailors converting to dinghies. You will learn the fundamental skills of sailing and are introduced to the fun of dinghy sailing in a safe and supportive environment.
Duration: 12 hours (courses are 4 x 3 hour sessions.)                                                                                                                                                                                            Cost: $330 includes Australia Sailing textbook “Start Sailing Right”, dinghy sailing logbook, certificate and AS training course insurance & use of PFD. Wet suit hire available at $40 for the duration of the course. Course Overview

This course introduces participants to dinghy sailing and its fundamental skills so they learn terminology and equipment and practice launching and returning to shore and capsize recovery. 

Course Prerequisites

Water confident.

Who should do this course?

This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a dinghy. All the equipment and gear will be provided by your accredited Discover Sailing Centre.

Course Outcome

You will gain your Start Sailing 1 completion certificate.
