The RGYC Youth Squad is open to youth members aged 13 to 22 who have demonstrated sailing ability in either dinghies or keelboats, with experience in fleet racing.

Running from May to July 2025, the program is structured in two key training blocks. The first block focuses on fleet racing fundamentals, RS21 tuning, and developing crew combinations. The second block shifts to consolidating crew roles and building match racing skills.

Delivered by Australian Sailing-accredited coaches, the Youth Squad aims to expand each sailor’s skill set and expose them to new pathways in the sport—including the opportunity to represent RGYC at future youth regattas.

Program Fees

To be confirmed in late March 2025. Members representing RGYC at significant championships throughout the training program, who may miss multiple sessions, can apply to the Sailing Office for a pro-rata fee. Applications will be considered on a case by case basis.
