Course information
Optimist Intermediate Fleet
The Optimist Intermediate Fleet is open to sailors in the Optimist, O'pen Skiff or other youth single-handed classes who have completed Junior Green Fleet. Sessions will be led by RGYC Head Coach Tony Bull and RGYC Australian Sailing Instructors. Sailors have the ability to utilise the RGYC Optimist fleets as part of their registration.
The Optimist Intermediate Fleet will be run alongside the Cadet Intermediate and Advanced fleets.
Parents and supporters of RGYC youth sailing are encouraged to volunteer to assist on the instructor boats in an assistant capacity. This is a great opportunity to see the sailors developing up close on the water. While we encourage parent involvement, we ask all parents volunteering to respect the expertise and knowledge of our coaches and instructors in allowing them teach our junior sailors.
Dates & Time:
Sessions will run on Friday afternoons from 5:15 p.m. until dusk or 7:30 p.m. as the days get longer. Sailors are expected to be rigged, dressed, and ready to sail on the RGYC hardstand by 5:15 pm for a briefing.
