It has been pleasing to see some dinghy sailors enjoying time on the water in the last couple of days since the relaxing of Government restrictions in relation to COVID-19.  Now, in keeping in line with these Government restrictions, we are very excited to offer our dinghy sailing members  some dinghy training this weekend to help maintain skill level and fitness during these unprecedented times.

Invited Classes

Single-Handed: Optimist, O'pen Skiff, Laser, WASZP, Moth, Contender

Double-Handed (skipper & crew must currently reside in the same house): Mirror, 420, 29er

Please note the following:

  • Groups will consist of up to 7 sailors plus one coach.
  • Must be a member of RFBYC.
  • Sailors must register on-line via RevSports to participate in the session.  Sailors who show up on the day without registering will not be allowed to participcate.
  • Boats will be spaced at least 3 metres apart on the Dinghy Club foreshore.
  • Hand sanitiser will be available for use however, we encourage sailors to bring along their own bottle. 
  • Sailors to provide their own sunscreen, water and snacks.
  • Parents are asked to drop off their child/children at the advertised session start time and pick up at the end of the session. 
  • Coaches will provide shore-based and on-water support.
  • The Dinghy/Junior Clubhouse will be closed however, the changerooms will be open and restricted to 4 people occupancy at any given time.

Sunday, 3 May 2020
09:00 - 12:00 - Green Fleet (2 x groups of 7)
13:00 - 16:00 - Youth, Laser, WASZP, Moth, 420, 29er, Contender (2 x groups of 7)

Note: Skipper & crew for double-handed dinghies must be currently residing in the same house.

Sailors are encouraged to only attend one session this weekend to allow all Dinghy/Junior sailors the opportunity to go sailing.
