Sailing Institute - Summer Squad 2019 - 2020

We are pleased to invite RFBYC members of all ages to get involved in match racing. In the fleet of BW8 keelboats, we will offer specialist coaching to experienced sailors. Established teams are encouraged. 

Teams may wish to aim towards the JESS Match Cup at RFBYC in January and other events for youth, womens and open teams throughout the year. 

Match Racing Training

• Youth and Adults. 
• Sailing racing experience required.
• Youth sailors should have participated in the Sailing Institute Match Racing Squad.   
• Adults by getting in touch and detailing their sailing experience.  
• Established teams of 4 or 5 are encouraged. 

Summer training, we are looking at the following times:

Thursday 28 November	1730 - 1900	One session: Classroom, introduction to the squad.
Monday & Tuesday evenings	1700 - 1930	Six sessions: Classroom and on water training. Monday 02 December Tuesday 03 December  Monday 09 December Tuesday 10 December Monday 16 December Tuesday 17 December

Squad fee:

• $150, RFBYC members only 
• Sailors enrolled in the 2019-2020 Sailing Institute Match Racing Squad will not be charged. Summer Squad is a continuation of the Winter Squad match racing program. 

2020 JESS Match Cup:

• 17 - 19 January at Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club.
• Open event. 
• World Sailing grading level to be announced.
• Event perpetual trophy. 
• Highest placed eligible team will gain an entry to the 2020 Warren Jones International Youth Match Racing Regatta.
