The RFBYC Sailing Institute is designed to foster the next generation of sailors and impart skills and experiences that will last a lifetime. Youth Keelboat sailors will have the chance to make new friends, have fun, and learn skills that could take their sailing in a whole new direction.

Sailors must be aged 12 to 18 and have previous sailing experience (in either dinghies or keelboats) to participate. To find out if your child is eligible for this event please speak to Chelsea.

This program aims to introduce young sailors to the basics of keelboat racing.  Sessions will focus on the skills necessary to sail a keelboat safely and effectively as both crew and helm.  Sailors will gain the confidence to sail keelboats under supervision and join in club racing.

This is the first step towards joining the Sailing Institute Youth Match Racing squad and taking part in keelboat racing at local, national and even international levels.
